In support of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, Ringdale will be introducing 5 informative topics, regarding securing the on-ramp and off-ramp of information from core business systems and printers and multifunction devices.

The downfall of ‘Print and Sprint’

The top concern for enterprises, regarding security and print management tasks, is confidential or sensitive documents being printed to shared printers. This combined with the fact that 70% of enterprise organizations have reported at least one data loss, due to paper related processes, has made security the number one driver for managed print services in 20151.

Financial and Professional services organizations have been quickly adopting, where most expect to have a secure printing solution in place by the end of 2016. Until a solution is place, organizations are at risk of a security breach and sizable fines, due to unmanaged paper-based processes.

Secure FollowMe printing provides an intuitive approach for office and mobile users to print in a controlled and managed manner. Employees no longer have to ‘print and sprint’ to collect confidential pages, while organizations can be confident that measures are in place to minimize risk.

How FollowMe Printing works

Office and mobile print jobs are securely held and available for the authenticated employee to print at any enabled printing device. By selecting the print jobs while at the printer/MFP, all printed documents are secured, as users are at the device when the pages are printing. For unprinted documents, the solution can automatically delete the encrypted documents, after a specified time period. By enabling this intuitive workflow, documents remain secure.

What solutions are available?

Secure FollowMe printing is available by Ringdale and supports virtually any network printer/MFP brands and models. FollowMe is a vendor neutral solution that works with multi-vendor brands to support resellers and end-user customers. Ringdale has relationships with world’s leading printing manufacturers including Canon, Hewlett Packard, Lexmark, Konica Minolta, Kyocera Mita, Oce, OKI, Ricoh, Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba and Xerox.
