Technology can be daunting. When most of us are considering an upgrade on something such as a phone or a TV, we can ask friends what they know, read Consumer Reports, or believe what the sales person tells us.

Usually the worst-case scenario is either being in over our heads, ending up with too much or too little of what we are looking for, or maybe being out a few hundred dollars. For courts, though, the scenario is much more serious, and the consequences can be dire.

Budgets are limited, everything is evolving quickly, there is the matter of retrofitting with existing infrastructure, and with courts justice might be on the line. Here is one court’s story of how they upgraded their technology.
