If your customers are looking for a cost efficient pull-print system but struggle justifying costs for embedded or external terminals on low-cost print devices, consider offering a free mobile app instead.

Earlier this year, with the introduction of YSoft SafeQ 6, use of a mobile app across multiple brands of MFDs as a way to release print jobs became possible. The app is free and is available on iOS, Android and, as of this week, Windows Phone.

After sending a job to print as they normally do, employees can use the mobile app to release the print job to a connected printer. With the app, they can view print jobs waiting to be printed; purge unwanted prints and mark print jobs as favorites.

The app supports QR code scanning to identify the desired printer. And like it’s Android cousin, the YSoft SafeQ mobile app on Windows Phone supports NFC codes to identify the printer.
