Program recognizes organizations committed to professionalism, technical proficiency and customer service through staff certification

Downers Grove, Ill. – Seven companies that have committed to professional staff development, technical proficiency and superior customer service by certifying their information technology (IT) staffs are the first recipients of CompTIA Certified Team Awards.

CompTIA, the nonprofit trade association for the IT industry, today revealed the inaugural class of organizations that have earned the CompTIA Certified Team Award. They are:

“Recognition as a CompTIA Certified Team signifies that the IT professionals in these organizations have validated technical proficiency and are committed to delivering the highest level of customer service,” said Todd Thibodeaux, president and chief executive officer, CompTIA.

To earn the designation, at least 80 percent of an organization’s IT team must be CompTIA certified (minimum of 10 IT technicians required).

Employers worldwide recognize and rely on CompTIA certifications when hiring and promoting IT professionals.

Hiring managers and HR professionals believe having IT job candidates with industry certifications saves time and resources in evaluating applicants, ensures a candidate’s credibility and demonstrates that they have a baseline set of knowledge.

Once hired, certified IT workers get up to speed more quickly, are more likely to stay with the company long term, have a higher likelihood of being promoted and generally perform better than non-certified IT staff.

With more than two million certifications awarded, CompTIA is the leading provider of vendor-neutral skills certifications and education for the world’s IT workforce. CompTIA has four IT certification categories that test different knowledge standards, from entry-level to expert, in cloud computing, mobility, Linux, networking, security, storage and other mission-critical technologies.
