“Increased efficiency throughout our print processes is the best way to stay competitive in the marketplace,” said Mike Ribaudo, Vice President of Kase Printing. “Integrating the speed and throughput of our existing XL 105s with the increased productivity of the Stahlfolder TH 82 will support our plan to grow our customer portfolio. This equipment combination will easily double what we can push through our current production platform.”

The Stahlfolder TH 82 combines maximum productivity and flexibility with high quality folding. Intelligent automation and optimized operation improve machine utilization by reducing makeready times while its modular design easily adapts to specific customer requirements.

Parallel Production

The Stahlfolder TH 82 will replace a competitive folder, and it will allow the New Hampshire based printer to enter new markets by servicing the pharmaceutical and medical device industry with multi-panel, map folded multi-language IFUs (information for use) and PILs (patient information leaflet). Thanks to complementary performance features on the XL 105 presses and the TH 82, the commercial printer can ensure its clients have the highest quality product in the shortest amount of time.

“With two XL presses to work with, and by doubling folding speed with the new Stahlfolder, we will have the ability to simultaneously split print any multi-form project on our two presses at once, cutting the delivery time to our bindery in half,” said Ribaudo. “The new Stahlfolder will be able to keep pace with the XL 105s and eliminate bottlenecks throughout the operation.”

Worth The Price

According to Ribaudo, the strategic investment is certainly worth the price. “While there is the added expense of equipment financing, the cost burden will be easily offset by the higher throughput that our existing XL presses and new TH 82 can produce.”

Kase Printing purchased its first Heidelberg press, a GTO, in 1992. “Over the span of our 25 years in business, we’ve always had Heidelberg equipment of one format or another on the floor. We are confident in the quality that Heidelberg produces, and we want to provide our current and potential customers the opportunity to reap the benefits of high performance printing and folding.”
