DUSSELDORF, GERMANY, Monday, February 29, 2016 —

Placeholder ImageAt drupa 2016, Kodak will announce a new process free plate to help enable printers to take advantage of the expanded set of opportunities associated with UV printing, while realizing the additional savings and environmental benefits of process free technology. With demand for its process free KODAK SONORA Plates growing to over 3000 customers, Kodak’s latest addition to the SONORA Plate portfolio is designed to meet the rigorous demands of UV print applications.

“By growing the SONORA Plate family to encompass UV, we are helping a broader population of our print customers to be more profitable, productive and sustainable into the future,” said Richard Rindo, GM Worldwide Offset Print and VP Print Systems Division, Kodak.  “And, with SONORA Plate production facilities now located in the USA, Europe and China, local proximity enables faster supply, support and customer service for our printers around the globe.”

At drupa 2016, Kodak will also showcase its new KODAK AQUA-IMAGE Pressroom Chemicals range to help printers reduce variability and improve performance in the pressroom. The AQUA-IMAGE product offerings will include over 20 press washes, plate cleaners, ink roller maintenance chemicals and storage gums to keep presses in peak condition for improved efficiency, and producing more consistent results.

“Kodak has invested heavily in R&D to deliver the most innovative prepress solutions across the entire spectrum, including plates and chemistry, CTP devices, workflow – and now we will be offering pressroom consumables to enable superior performance from prepress to pressroom,” said Rindo. “Nearly 30% of our current sales are from products launched at or since the last drupa, which shows that we continue to lead the industry by successfully innovating to meet the evolving needs of our printers.”
