Mansfield, Ohio – May 26, 2016 – MT Business Technologies (MTBT) owner Carl Fernyak presented The Jillian Fund, a charity that provides financial support to families with children suffering life-threatening injuries, with a check for $40,000. This contribution represents one percent of the revenue from MTBT’s annual sales blitz that took place in February.

“We were all able to come together with a very important goal in mind, this has been a tremendous bonding experience for our team,” said Carl Fernyak, CEO, MT Business Technologies.

The Jillian Fund was created in memory of Jillian Lauren Gorman, who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of blood cancer at age 16 and passed away three and a half years later.

“We were drawn to The Jillian Fund because of their compelling story and cause. Being able to provide support to this incredible organization served as extra motivation for the sales team since their success determined how much was donated,” said Chuck Rounds, President, MT Business Technologies.

The Jillian Fund’s mission is to allow families to focus on caring for children facing serious illnesses by providing financial support toward household expenses, childcare expenses, lodging, transportation and meals. Jillian’s parents were lucky enough to be by her side throughout years of cancer treatments. Their goal is to help ensure that more families have the financial ability to do the same for their children.

MTBT’s annual sales blitz took place on February 24 and 25, during which the company does its largest sales volume of the year. This is the first year the company contributed a percentage of its sales blitz revenue to a charitable cause.

“We started the Jillian Fund in Jillian’s memory, and to honor her legacy by helping to lessen the burden of suffering children and families in need,” said Jillian Fund founder George Gorman. “We are overwhelmed and grateful for this extremely generous donation, which will truly make a difference in our ability to provide support to struggling families.”
