I’m testing the Samsung MultiXpress K7600GX and X7600GX to see how reliable they are. Today we pushed these machines to the brink, scanning over 160,000 pages. The machines literally almost never stopped running, with just over 80,000 pages per machine. The million page test doesn’t just refer to printing and copying. We’re also scanning a million pages on both machines.

At a blazing 240 images per minute (four per second), these copiers blow through paper faster than any other devices I’ve ever tested.

We used the same originals throughout most of the day. Even ragged-edged, worn originals were no problem for this document handler. The only time it ever stumbled was when we tried to put too many sheets into it.

While it’s slated for 250 sheets (500 duplexed), we were running between 530-550 pages on each job. We got as many as 576 originals  to run at once – way more than the published specifications.
