 – Jeff Jacobson won’t officially become chief executive officer of the new Xerox Corp. for about another six months, but the Brooklyn native has already started settling into a new role with the company.

He made his first visit to Rochester since being named CEO of the document technology company to be formed when Xerox splits in two by year’s end. Jacobson met with about 450 employees, some customers and helped introduce headliner Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers Wednesday night at the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival.

Xerox has long been the title sponsor of the jazz fest, and plans to continue that partnership for at least another three years, Jacobson said.
