  • Customizing the Canon Generic Plus driver

uniFLOW Online 2024.2 enables printing in public places like libraries or co-working spaces for public users. In addition, the “Scan to email” scan workflow is elevated, allowing users to scan documents to any email address. Also, the customer support process is improved while guaranteeing the customer is always in control of access grants. The Canon Generic Plus UFR II driver can now be customized to suit location-specific requirements.

Printing in public spaces

Printing in public spaces can be troublesome for visitors or guests. Users can now register with any email address and print using a public PC, e.g., in a library or learning hub. Once registered via a simple three-step process, printing on a public PC is simple; a pop-up for entering an email address or card number is shown to identify the user. Once submitted, the print jobs can be retrieved from any printer by identifying them via the provided PIN code. uniFLOW Online provides secure printing in public spaces with little administrative effort.

Scan to email

Email is by far the most used business application globally. “Scan to Myself” is often misused to send a file to another person by forwarding the initial mail from the device. uniFLOW Online allows scanning directly from the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE to any email address. It is easy to configure, and the integrated service removes the need for other mail services. Scanned documents can also be sent to internal uniFLOW Online users or a recently used email address, speeding up office workflows.

Simplified customer support

With uniFLOW Online 2024.2, external support is much more efficient and secure. Access can be granted by the customer to a specific supporter role. This way, only supporters of a service provider, holding the same role defined by the customer, are granted access. The supporter accesses the customer tenant using his regular tenant credentials. Access is time-limited and can be revoked by the customer at any time.

Customizing the Canon Generic Plus driver

With uniFLOW Online users can easily print using the Canon Generic Plus UFR II printer driver. Devices can have varying configuration and/or printing defaults and require a custom driver, often location-dependent. Administrators can now easily customize the driver configuration and printing defaults to match the specific device configuration, ensuring full control over the devices.
