Malvern, PA, December 23, 2014 – Ricoh Americas Corporation has received two Editors’ Choice Awards from PC Magazine for the company’s ultra short throw projectors. The PJ WX4141N was selected in the portable, non-interactive, ultra-short-throw projector category, and the PJ WX4141NI received the honor in the portable, ultra-short-throw, interactive projector category. Key factors in the selection were the projectors’ portability, size and image quality; along with the PJ WX4141NI’s capability to share its interactive image with other projectors and whiteboards on the same network.

PC Magazine reviewer M. David Stone summed up the PJ WX4141NI’s selection as an Editors’ Choice by saying, “If you want a portable interactive ultra-short-throw model, the Ricoh PJ WX4141NI offers a brighter image, near-excellent quality for data images, an even shorter throw than most ultra-short-throw models, and the ability to share its image and interactive notations with other projectors and whiteboards on the same network. That makes it our Editors’ Choice.”

In both reviews, PC Magazine’s reviewer applauded the unique design of both projectors. Unlike typical ultra short throw projectors that are deeper rather than high with the lensing system on the top near the back of the projector, the PJ WX4141N/PJ WX4141NI have a much smaller footprint and are taller at 8.7 by 10.1 by 5.7 inches (HWD). The lensing systems on Ricoh’s projectors are also on the top, midway between the front and back, making the actual throw distance only a few inches further from where the projector sits.

PC Magazine Labs also recognized both projectors’ ability to cast high-quality data images, ranging from 48 to 80 (diagonal) inches at a distance of 4.6 to 9.8 inches from the screen. Both projectors are also highly portable, weighing 6 pounds 10 ounces each.

Regarding the PJ WX4141N, Stone stated, “Its combination of brightness, small size, and light weight makes it a runaway pick as our Editors’ Choice portable, ultra-short-throw projector.”

“We are honored to be recognized by PC Magazine’s editors for our latest generation of ultra short throw projectors,” said Matt Sakauchi, Vice President, Technology Marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation. “As businesses continually seek new ways to improve performance, collaboration and management of information in a new world of work, we are constantly striving to design products that meet these needs. This honor confirms we are accomplishing this goal.”

The RICOH PJ WX4141NI is available today for an MSRP of $2,175. The RICOH PJ WX4141N is comparable to the PJ WX4141NI model without the interactive capabilities, and is available for $1,800. Both are available through Ricoh professional AV distributors Shoreview Distribution and Stampede, Ricoh dealers, and direct.
