By KAREN LACHTANSKI – IDC, a leading research company that studies the emergence of 3D printing technology, has written a Flash report on YSoft be3D eDee, our 3D print management solution for Education. We are pleased to make a copy of the report available to our readers.

With our YSoft be3D eDee solution, we aim to meet the needs of both educational institutions with secure, managed access and pay-for-print if desired, while giving students access to experiment directly with 3D printing. It solves the problem that IDC states exists today:

“We hear from schools that they buy 3D printers, but often lock them up so students and users cannot access them because there is no way to manage access and costs associated with their use. It defeats the purpose of the 3D printer in education which is meant to motivate student learning. In the end, the printer goes unused.”
Tim Greene, Researcher, IDC.
