Another successful “Night of Code” was held at the Benton Professional Development Building on December 6th, 2016. With roughly sixty kids in attendance ranging from grades 3 through 7, the event was part of the largest learning event in history: The Hour of Code, during Computer Science Education Week (Dec. 5-11).
This second annual event was designed to foster interest in the field of Computer Science, and in particular, programming and coding. We live in a world surrounded by technology, and we know that whatever field students choose to go into as adults their ability to succeed will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works.
ACDI’s very own programmers, Seth Ingram and Dan Ndombe were on hand to work with the students and answer questions about coding throughout the evening.

Dan and Seth, thank you for volunteering your time to work with the students. I had numerous parents express their appreciation for you taking the time to come and work with the students on coding. Pete, thank you for the door prizes. The students really enjoyed them. Josh, thank you for allowing us to borrow your employees and for supporting Benton with our Coding initiative. We appreciate the support from ACDI. Thank you for allowing the students to see they can pursue a career in computers and still work in Benton. Thank you again.
