Des Plaines Office Equipment CEO Chip Miceli participates at Select Dealer Group (SDG) trade association in Chicago

CHICAGO, IL, ISSUED DECEMBER 4, 2017…Chip Miceli, President/CEO of Des Plaines Office Equipment (, a 60+ year old, second-generation family business providing document management and managed network services, was one of several dozen industry executives to participate in a conference of the Select Dealer Group, held at the Westin in Chicago.

The Select Dealer Group is an association of owners and executives in the document management industry, with members from across the United States and several foreign countries. The three-day conference included presentations from equipment manufacturers including HP and Xerox; and there were a number of panel and industry discussions on topics of interest to dealers including:

  • Challenges for sales leaders
  • Print production techniques and challenges
  • The BTA (Business Technology Association) channel and looking ahead
  • Dealer financial issues
  • CRM (Content Relationship Management)
  • Rebranding techniques

Speakers and panelists included Frank Cannata, Editor/Publisher of The Cannata Report, a well-respected industry journal. Additionally, there were executives from Xerox, Ricoh, Konica Minota, and HP.

Chip Miceli is a founding member and the former President of the Select Dealer Group. He has worked to help the organization expand both in terms of its membership and in some of the programming, including panel discussions, offered at the meetings.
