By Marc Spring, Evolved Office – A scary movement has been building since 2016. More and more cybercriminals are targeting Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and Business Solution Providers (BSPs) to gain access to their customer’s data. A ransomware attack that has the potential to cripple hundreds of small and large businesses and organizations is more lucrative than going after a lone corporation. These bad-guy actors have learned that MSPs hold the key to unlock all of their customers’ dossiers. After only one breach, the data is held hostage, and the MSP must pay-up before it’s released. A services provider can be out many thousands of dollars and hundreds of man-hours before his business can be reclaimed.

No organization is better equipped in understanding the threats and working against cyber criminals than the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). We are honored that a CISA representative will be at ITEX 2020, leading a workshop on cyber resiliency. Mr. Jason Burt, Cyber Security Advisor, Region IV, will be presenting an in-depth class covering four asset types—technology, information, people, and facilities—and how cybersecurity should be applied to protect those assets.

A part of the workshop will focus on “How resilient are you?”
