Langenhagen, Germany, 13 February 2019

Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe (Konica Minolta) has launched its third International University Contest. The contest gives a unique opportunity for students from around the world to engage in an innovative international cooperation between the worlds of academia and business. The initiative is part of Konica Minolta’s support for tertiary education institutions seeking to transform their organisations through the creation of more competitive, efficient digital campuses that deliver an enhanced quality of service. The competition is open to entries from 1 March.

The Konica Minolta International University Contest provides teams of students with the opportunity to collaborate with Konica Minolta to analyse document and information workflows at their institutions and propose practical solutions to enhance life on campus and simplify administration.

“This unique international contest not only presents opportunities for students to understand processes and information management systems, but also lets universities come together to share and develop best practices as they transform for the digital age”, said Manuel Arroniz, International Business Development Manager at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe GmbH.

Prizes will be awarded to the best proposals at first a national level and then at an international level to select the overall winner. Submissions will be assessed according to their depth of analysis, feasibility at a local level and degree of innovation. The juries will include leading experts from academia and business, including Konica Minolta’s national and international management teams. The best national teams win a 3-day trip to Amsterdam in September 2020 to present their proposals at the International Awards Ceremony at the Konica Minolta European Experience Centre. The international prize is awarded to the best team overall, who will win a 4-day trip to New York, including a visit to Konica Minolta’s US headquarters in New Jersey.

Time to shine on a world stage

The Konica Minolta International University Contest provides students with a unique opportunity to meet with and compete against their peers from around the world. During the 2017–18 contest, 33 teams from 17 universities and 5 countries participated.
