Ricoh Co., Ltd. presents the current status of the Ricoh Group’s response to the new type of coronavirus infection below.

  1. Basic policy

The Ricoh Group has established a system based on the following policies and is taking necessary measures against the risks associated with the spread of new coronavirus infections.

  • Give priority to maintaining the life and health of group employees and their families.
  • Consider the impact on society and prevent the increase of infected people as much as possible.
  • Make efforts to continuously provide services and products required by society and customers.
  • Strive to maintain a business foundation.
  • Preparing for a “very serious pandemic” where normal business cannot be continued
  1. Response to Group employees

In addition to thorough awareness of infection prevention, domestic and overseas business trips are prohibited in principle. Regardless of business or private purpose, those who plan to return to Japan from abroad and plan to work at home are allowed to work at home for two weeks, check their health status, and are allowed to work. Regarding the availability of employees to work at each of our global sites, we respond appropriately to governmental and other governmental requests. 

  1. Response to events hosted by the Ricoh Group

In consideration of the state of infection of the new coronavirus in Japan, in order to ensure the safety and health of customers, related parties, and group employees, and to prevent the spread of infection, Ricoh Group events are prohibited in principle. . 

  1. Active use of telecommuting

In response to the Japanese government’s declaration of an emergency, telecommuting will be the basis of work in the regions covered by the Ricoh Group in Japan. (However, after considering how to make the most of telecommuting, if it is absolutely difficult to do work, etc., the head of the department will decide to work for the minimum required person.) In the United States, we also work from home.

Based on the experience and know-how of working at home, the Ricoh Group has been working on new ways of working, such as how to achieve remote work while increasing productivity, and taking thorough measures against infection. We aim to further promote the improvement of business productivity. 

  1. Domestic product supply

We currently have sufficient inventory of supplies and service parts for equipment used by customers, and we have a system that does not cause any inconvenience, but some parts from suppliers Due to obstruction of procurement, supply of some equipment may become unstable.

Currently, we are working to grasp the situation from various directions, and are examining and implementing various countermeasures to minimize the impact on production, such as checking the stock status of each model and part, and arranging replacement parts. You. Going forward, we will work to respond to customers who are expected to have an impact, and will do our utmost to minimize the impact.

We will continue to take necessary actions promptly in accordance with the basic policy described above, while keeping an eye on information from various fields.
