ESP customers will benefit from new diagnostic intelligence features
and 30-amp solutions to better serve their customers

Knightdale, NC, April 26, 2017AMETEK Electronic Systems Protection (ESP), a leader in advanced power protection, diagnostic intelligence, remote monitoring, and cloud solutions, today announces a beneficial diagnostic intelligence firmware and software upgrade to the ESP NextGen power conditioning system (PCS) and a new 30-amp ESP Envision power conditioning system that features an embedded Windows® control panel for simpler analysis, monitoring, and control.

NextGen PCS Firmware and Software Upgrade
ESP was the first in the imaging industry to offer neutral-to-ground voltage display measurements with its Envision product. The latest two-fold enhancement introduces that same popular Envision feature to the NextGen PCS line, which enables warnings of excess neutral-to-ground voltage levels via an on-device LCD and, if connected, displays the current neutral-to-ground voltage via the NextGen interface.

Informing technicians of excessive neutral-ground voltage allows them to better interpret power issues at customer installation sites to accurately determine if equipment is on a non-dedicated circuit, an overloaded circuit, or an excessively long-run circuit, or identify if there is defective wiring on site. Over the next several months, all NextGen products in production will benefit from the neutral-ground detection update at no additional cost.

“Imbalances in neutral-to-ground voltage levels, which cannot be solved through the deployment of traditional power protection devices, can cause erratic performance or damage sensitive equipment,” notes Dave Perrotta, Director, Business Manager for AMETEK ESP.

“The ability for our NextGen product line to detect neutral-to-ground voltage levels offers our customers a more complete diagnostic solution for identifying a power issue that can develop at any time during the lifetime of the equipment and help safeguard our customer’s uptime.”

30-Amp Envision PCS with Embedded Windows Control Panel
The ESP product line expands with a new industrial 30-amp version of Envision, a proven power protection and diagnostic intelligence system that measures, records, and interprets power conditions in real time with detailed time and date-stamped reports. The new 30-amp Envision can be purchased with an embedded Windows control panel for the end-user to directly interface with the device without an external IP module or connected laptop, making it an all-in-one solution for seamless monitoring of power conditions directly from equipment.

To help technicians mitigate downtime and disturbances, Envision measures power data including line-neutral voltage, neutral-ground voltage, amperage, crest factor, power factor, line frequency, and energy usage. The solution also records the specific time and date of over/under voltages, surges, power outages, shut-offs, and presents the data on-site, via the web, and downloadable reports.

When left onsite, Envision continually analyzes and records power anomalies and provides power management functionality. Its embedded Windows control panel offers customers a direct way to review and diagnose the root cause of system issues produced by power and offer solutions to resolve them before significant damage or downtime occurs.

“We specifically designed the 30-amp Envision with production print machines in mind,” adds Perrotta. “This high-speed equipment is typically more sensitive to the surrounding power environment, and especially invaluable to our customers who rely on them for their businesses. We continually look for new ways to maximize customer uptime, and the 30-amp Envision ensures that those customers aren’t losing revenue due to missed or misdiagnosed power problems.”

The 30-amp Envision is available now and the embedded Windows panel version will be available this summer. For more information, please visit espsurgex.com
