Microsoft Azure Platform Leads the IAAS Pack and Powers DocuWare Cloud

By Thomas Schneck, DocuWare Cloud services must be globally available, rapidly scalable and fast. That’s why DocuWare built its cloud offering on the Microsoft Azure platform. Azure’s stability and security is a contributing factor in DocuWare’s 140% growth in overall cloud revenue in 2017.

As Bob Evans reported a recent Forbes article, Microsoft Tops Amazon In Q1 Cloud Revenue, $6.0 Billion To $5.44 Billion; IBM Third At $4.2 Billion, Amazon is losing ground in its attempt to overtake Microsoft as the world’s leading enterprise-cloud provider. Evans characterizes Microsoft as the top cloud company in world “not only because of its revenue numbers but also because of its customer-centric vision for how it weaves its vast arsenal of traditional and new technologies together via the cloud.”

This tracks with the Gartner assessment in the 2017 Magic Quadrant for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service, “Azure is already a very capable and broad platform, and Microsoft continues to accelerate its new-feature velocity. Microsoft is now launching innovative Azure capabilities of its own, rather than primarily copying competitor capabilities.”
