To start, what exactly does BYOD stand for? BYOD stands for Bring Your Own Device. By your own device, it refers to your mobile devices such as tablets, laptops, and smartphones. Technology is always updating, changing, and enhancing.

Today, with laptops, smartphones, and tablets, mobile technology continues to be on the rise. Many campuses now allow and often encourage students to bring their own tablets and laptops. Businesses as well have begun letting their employees bring in personal laptops and tablets they can keep separate or use an extra monitor.

Employee Responsiveness and Productivity

Everyone has their own preferences. Some prefer an iOS Apple platform while others prefer Windows. When employees can bring their own device, which they may be much more comfortable with, their quality of work can seriously increase. A 2016 CITO Research study found that 53% of polled workers feel they’re much more productive with their own devices.
