Konica Minolta strengthens its position as a full-fledged IT service provider by acquiring Grupo Meridian

Konica Minolta Business Solutions announces the acquisition of Grupo Meridian. The Spanish company is a specialist in providing solutions for information technology, communications, technological consulting, outsourcing, IT security and software development. This makes it a perfect match for strengthening Konica Minolta’s position as a full-fledged provider for IT services, in the Spanish market and beyond.

Founded in 1999, the Madrid based Grupo Meridian is providing its clients in Spain as well as across the European Union with IT and technology solutions that perfectly match their business – all from one unified source. Customers, big international corporations as well as local small and medium-sized companies, recognize the special value Grupo Meridian delivers with its services, products and solutions. The IT company’s portfolio covers managed cloud services, vertical document management application and comprehensive IT services, adapted to the customers’ specific needs.

Pushing forward innovation in IT services, office technologies and software is at the heart of Grupo Meridian’s business activities. The company does so in an open innovation approach, bringing together its inhouse expertise with that of its leading international partners and demanding customers. This approach elevates Grupo Meridian from a technology provider to a trusted strategic partner for their client’s businesses.

Both – its customer centricity and innovation process – put Grupo Meridian in line with Konica Minolta’s business approach, making the integration of Grupo Meridian a natural fit. “Grupo Meridian and Konica Minolta share the same goal of helping our customers to reach the next level on the way to the digital workplace”, said Vasco Falcao, CEO of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Spain. “Grupo Meridian and its expertise is perfectly integrating into our offer of services and particularly with regard to solutions for the workplace of the future”, he added.

“Now, we will be able to combine the assets of the multinational company Konica Minolta with our powerful IT and document management solutions and expertise – all in the service of our customers. We are looking forward to reshape the workplace of the future for our customers together with Konica Minolta,” said Alex Hidalgo, President of Grupo Meridian. With the acquisition, Grupo Meridian became subsidiary of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Spain, S.A.
