etherFAX Implements DirectFax into Epic Platform for Ultra-Fast, High-Resolution Results with End-to-End Encryption

etherFAX today announced its integration with Epic, the top-utilized platform for electronic patient records in the U.S and Canada. Epic connects directly with etherFAX to enable healthcare organizations to exchange protected health information (PHI) with end-to-end encryption, ultra-fast transmission speeds, and guaranteed delivery.

The etherFAX Secure Exchange Network (SEN) is the world’s largest fax network, leveraging military-grade encryption and hybrid cloud technology to provide 100 percent secure communications. Through the integration, Epic users can leverage etherFAX SEN to securely transport critical healthcare and business information via Epic Print Services (EPS) without having to change a single workflow. As a cloud-based solution, etherFAX does not require a fax server or additional software.

“Our integration with Epic allows healthcare organizations to digitally send and receive patient information,” Paul Banco, CEO and co-founder of etherFAX said.

etherFAX’s DirectFax solution via SEN enables Epic users to send and receive high-resolution, full color documents directly to applications and devices within seconds. To help patients and doctors decide on the best care and treatment options, etherFAX DirectFax delivers rich content documents with near-diagnostic image quality. For guaranteed security and data protection, etherFAX is HITRUST CSF certified as well as PCI DSS and SOC 2 compliant.

“Our integration with Epic allows healthcare organizations to digitally send and receive patient information,” Paul Banco, CEO and co-founder of etherFAX said. “With the ability to transmit medical records, test results, prescriptions, insurance claims, and other unstructured data fast and securely, etherFAX and Epic are enabling organizations to fuel healthcare innovation, streamline workflows, and improve patient care.”

etherFAX also allows organizations to send and receive high-resolution documents from third-party messaging platforms including Slack, Teams, Microsoft Fax, and mobile applications. Organizations can send and receive faxes and PHI documents on Android and iOS mobile phones with superior image quality via etherFAX SEN.
