Konica Minolta’s AccurioPress 6100 Offers New Capabilities in Meeting Evolving Customer Demands
Ramsey, NJ – August 22, 2018 – Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) today announced that The Printing Solution has significantly expanded its operation in the digital print space with the startup this week of its new AccurioPress 6100 Digital Color Press (KM-6100), situated in a new, 6,000 square foot facility dedicated to digital print technology.
Based in St. Louis, Missouri, and operating from a 38,000 square foot state-of-the- art facility, The Printing Source (TPS) has traditionally focused its core business in offset printing since opening in 1987. The decision to greatly expand the company’s digital color offerings was in recognition of the unique advantages digital represents; faster turnaround times, sharper images and the ability to automatically adjust color separation during a print run without the constant oversight of a technician.
“We evaluated several different options before selecting the Konica Minolta’s AccurioPress 6100 Color Press. This machine offers the quality, speed, durability and value that The Printing Source was looking for,” said Dave Wiseman, president of The Printing Source. “The marketplace today demands quality throughout the run of any given project. The color density and registration checks this technology performs in the AccurioPress 6100 played a large part in our decision-making process,” Wiseman added.
In addition to the AccurioPress 6100, TPS also installed Konica Minolta’s IQ-501 Intelligent Quality Optimizer, an automated system that constantly monitors and adjusts printed output color calibration. This added feature factored heavily into the decision making process, according to Wiseman.
“During the vetting process, the local Konica Minolta office allowed TPS to run several live jobs, at no charge, on an in-house AccurioPress 6100 demo unit,” said Jeffrey Perkins, regional vice president, Konica Minolta. “The TPS operators were amazed at the ease of use, quality and dependability while running the press, which, I’m confident, contributed to their decision.”
