By Larry Coco, Coco Training – I have been a sales person and then the president of a sales training company my entire business life. But the day my teenage daughter died in a car crash changed everything.

I learned about the need for a higher sale. About the need to move beyond sales clichés and gimmicks. About the need to inspire myself before I could inspire ( as opposed to ” sell” ) others.

You see, I had to inspire myself before I could go on after my personal tragedy. What it did was drive home the realization that instead of elevator speeches and the like, salespeople need to act on the basis of three key principles.:

#1. Great salespeople never ” sell ” anything. We educate.

#2. Treat everyone you approach like family…the way you want to be treated.
