Label printer and engineering company MultiPrint GmbH (Hall 3A, Stand 21) has used Labelexpo 2019 to sign a deal for the Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 230 press in Hall 8 (Stand C12 and C19) in a move it beliefs will add new business opportunities in a rapidly-changing label market.

Employing 65 people across four sites in Germany, including from its headquarters in Hatten, Lower Saxony, MultiPrint already uses offset, flexo and digital inkjet technologies. The investment in Konica Minolta’s toner production press as an important step in filling niche markets and improving quality. One specific area will be for outside label production where toner technology is more stable and suitable than inkjet for water-resistant applications.

The AccurioLabel 230 will also connect with MultiPrint’s own digital printer/converter, the DIGIprint 2100, and provide cutting/slitting into a perfect roll at the end.

Mathias Gramsch, MultiPrint’s General Manager, “Having seen the AccurioLabel 230 running live, we’re hugely impressed by the quality of the printing and the fast turnaround times. Customers now demand short-run production – it’s not an option. There’s a huge market change and it’s also about how fast you can deliver to a customer. This is a big step forward for our business. Thanks to Konica Minolta investing in the Accurio Label 230 was an easy decision to make.”

Edoardo Cotichini, Team Manager Industrial Printing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe, said: “MultiPrint is another prime example of how companies are increasingly turning to our world-class technology for label printing.

There is a seismic change in the industry towards shorter runs and just in time production where label printers and converters need the highest quality printing which is provided on our AccurioLabel 230 digital label press.”

Other sales already agreed at Labelexpo for Konica Minolta AccurioLabel presses have included Maschinenbau Sobkowiak and Graphic Druck – both in Germany – and Cotswold Labels in the UK.
