How we began
In 1987, 51 independent dealers began discussing their potential, if they could just lower the cost of parts. They recognized their combined buying power and how it could make them more competitive in the industry.
Those dealers saw the potential of retaining their separate identities, but through their allegiance, they capitalized on an opportunity to strengthen their competitiveness. These dealers began a buying group, and negotiated pricing arrangements with 2 manufacturers.
Today, those numbers have grown. There are over 400 members in IBPI, representing over $5 billion in annual sales—with nearly 30 preferred vendors that comprise the largest buying group in the Industry.
IBPI is an organization that continually upgrades and improves the quality and pricing of the products our members sell and service.
