The Challenge
Hertz – the world’s leading vehicle rental organization with $9 billion in revenue – needed to develop and deploy an education solution to train new hires and develop future managers. The strategy: create a new plan for training retail customer service and service center personnel, while accommodating the company’s global growth strategy.
To help achieve that goal, Hertz brought in an expert in talent management and development: Xerox. The reasoning, according to LeighAnne Baker, Hertz senior vice president and chief human resources officer: “Xerox has a proven reputation of helping companies transform their workforces through learning.”
Xerox is among a small group of providers that offers end-to-end learning outsourcing services, either on a stand-alone basis or in connection with broader human capital management outsourcing services.
The Solution
Within 60 days, Xerox began executing a new, transformational leadership development strategy.
Under a five-year contract, we’re providing a shared-services global learning management system. With a focus on developing new hires and managers for key roles in the global organization, we deliver curriculum content at both the front-line employee and management levels.
Our solution is a complete learning process outsourcing service. It includes a world-class hosted learning management system, as well as related administration, learner care and support services.
Beyond curriculum content redesign and development, we’ve also assumed responsibility for learning administration and back-office management of Hertz’s facilities, logistics, fulfillment, staffing, registration, reporting and other support services.
