EDITED – I had incorrectly run the wrong Lexmark press information. The following is the correct announcement. ~Andy

Today Lexmark announced a new generation of mid-range monochrome products. These new single function and MFP devices are designed to enable dealers’ success, with the latest capabilities for reliability, productivity and security, packaged into desktop-size models for small and mid-sized workgroups. With sturdy frames and long-lasting components, the Lexmark M and XM 1200 and 3250 Series devices offer reliability, durability and duty cycles that minimize waste, enhance longevity and cut down the need for service and support.

“Dealers can optimize their customers’ fleets with these durable, reliable A4 mono printers and MFPs,” said Sammy Kinlaw, Lexmark vice president, Worldwide Channel and OEM Sales. “Customers will value their speed, excellent print quality, and ease of use, while our dealers will appreciate the long-life components and built-in extras that will enable their success.”

“At the heart of this new generation of monochrome machines is a powerful multicore processor that supports true multitasking, and twice as much standard memory as previous-generation devices,” Waugerman said. “These new devices are designed to be reliable, productive and secure additions to our Lexmark dealers’ offerings.”

Here are a few of the benefits that Lexmark dealers and their customers will appreciate:

  • Easier to service, saving dealers time and money
  • Long-life imaging units for fewer interventions
  • Fast print speeds for fast moving business
  • Powerful processor handles complex jobs
  • Dynamic media support for all kinds of media
  • Robust design with steel frames for reliability in all environments –
  • Tablet-like touch screen for seamless interactions
  • ENERGYSTAR 2.0 certified
  • Pre-installed Customer Support app helps Lexmark dealers improve customer service

An example of improved serviceability is greatly improved accessibility to the fuser unit. Servicing previous fusers required removing 16 screws and 8 parts, as well as access to the controller card. Servicing the new models’ fuser requires removing just 4 screws and 3 parts. This should save our dealers 15 minutes in service time for single function units, and save 30 minutes of service time for MFPs.
