FREMONT, California – September 29, 2014 — EFI™ (Nasdaq: EFII) and The Garvey Group today announced the installation of a new, 3.2-meter EFI VUTEk® HS100 Pro UV inkjet press at The Garvey Group’s suburban Milwaukee production facility. The press broadens The Garvey Group’s inkjet production capabilities in premium-quality point-of-purchase, transit and outdoor graphics for leading retailers and other national brands.

The new, high-volume inkjet press provides near-offset quality on a broad range of substrates, from vinyl banner and billboard material to a variety of rigid media. A new material edge guide (MEG) system from EFI installed with the press ensures full-speed productivity and high-quality results on challenging media, such as corrugated board.

The press installed last month is actually the second EFI VUTEk HS100 Pro in The Garvey Group’s national fleet of digital and litho production equipment. Earlier this year, the company installed a VUTEk HS100 Pro press in its Los Angeles facility to produce high-end, fast-turnaround graphics for retailers, brands and entertainment companies.

Operating at speeds up to 100 boards per hour, the press is a true digital alternative to labor-intensive screen printing operations, offering:

  • EFI’s Pin & Cure imaging technology, which offers precise ink lay-down for critical color accuracy and consistency, gloss control and an increased color gamut.
  • True, variable-dot grayscale inkjet head technology for higher image quality and better matching of brand colors.
  • Eight-color printing, including the industry’s best white ink, and a unique, multilayer printing capability for superior visual appeal on backlit displays and other applications.
