The M402 printer is an ideal solution for small businesses that do laser check printing. Check printing is made easy with TROY security fonts. The M402 also features secure numeric convenience amount and barcode fonts, enhanced printer security by locking the copy count to one, a disable jam recovery feature, assured MICR print quality by stopping on toner low, and optional paper tray locks that restrict access to blank check paper.
As part of the new series of LaserJet printers with HP JetIntelligence, these printers use up to 53 percent less energy, are 40 percent smaller, and up to 40 percent faster with less time for first page out. The M402 comes with a TROY MICR Toner Secure cartridge. This toner is a patented formula that helps deter fraudulent alteration by releasing a red dye when chemical removal of toner is attempted with a solvent. If chemical alteration is attempted on a document, a red stain will appear.
Cartridges for the M402 also encompass new JetIntelligence toner technology making cartridges more efficient. The standard yield cartridge yields approximately 3,100 pages and the high yield cartridge yields approximately 9,000 pages, both with 5 percent coverage. The M402 prints up to 40 pages per minute with a recommended volume of between 750 – 4,000 pages per month.
Customers can complete the solution for securing not only their printers, but their printed documents as well by adding items such as TROY Check Paper, which offers a variety of options to fit all printing needs. Signatures, logos or forms can also be easily added to the printers with the addition of a digitizing kit.
