NORWALK, Conn. —

Xerox, a market leader in healthcare payer solutions, was acknowledged as a representative vendor in Gartner, Inc.’s 2015 Healthcare Payer Market Guide for Fraud, Waste and Abuse Detection and Prevention Solutions[1]. Xerox was one of only two companies serving U.S. healthcare payers to have all of the 33 capabilities Gartner identified as key to fraud prevention and detection and fraud investigation and recovery.

According to Gartner, “FWA in the U.S. healthcare system is a major problem, with costs estimated from $60 billion to $80 billion annually due to either a deliberate attempt to deceive the system or inefficient administrative processes and systems[2].”

Xerox has more than three decades of experience processing healthcare payer transactions, ensuring every claim is paid properly and helping minimize dollars lost to FWA, which can directly impact member fees and patient care. With Xerox’s Web-based healthcare audit and compliance system, payers can prevent losses before they happen and, if needed, recover funds quickly.

“Our top priority is helping health plans see around corners so they can shift from reactively chasing misspent funds to proactively detecting and preventing fraud,” said Kelly Rakowski, senior vice president, Healthcare Payer Services at Xerox. “Payers need a thorough and automated process to continuously identify emerging ploys and offenders. When health plans stop fraud before it happens, they save money, improve operational efficiency, and provide better customer experience.”

Xerox works with the top 20 nationally managed health plans and the top 12 Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. It serves two-thirds of all insured Americans and processes more than one billion claims annually.
